A one day workshop was conducted by NIELIT Guwahati Jorhat Extension Centre for the students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1 AFS, Jorhat on 18^th April, 2024. Besides Ms. Monita Wahengbam, Sc-D, Centre In-charge, Shri Rajesh Yadav - STA, Shri Jyotirmoy Deka - IT Faculty and Shri Ai Myachha Chawloo, WBL Internee were the resource persons.

The Centre In-charge of NIELIT Jorhat EC started the proceedings by talking about the importance of cyber security in today’s technology driven life-style. She highlighted the importance of being aware about the pros and cons of using and managing technology properly.

Shri Rajesh Yadav next talked about the emerging field of Robotics and practically demonstrated to the students how this is achieved by using various models. Shri Jyotirmoy Deka then took up the subject of Artificial Intelligence and also demonstrated how this done by showing mouse control, zooming-in and zooming-out by using different hand gesture etc. Next Shri Chawloo talked about various AR/VR technologies. The students were thoroughly enthralled with the different presentations and eagerly participated in the program. Around 100 students participated in the program.

Shri Rahul Kumar, Principal, KV No. 1, AFS, Jorhat, in his closing remarks highlighted the importance of roadmap of emerging technologies and also stressed on the need for developing relevant skills alongside formal education. He also talked about the need for such programs for the benefit of the students by collaborating with NIELIT Jorhat EC.

The program was brought to a close by a vote of thanks from the Principal.
