Preamble:

​Android Application is a mobile software application developed for use on devices powered by Google's Android platform. The course has been designed to impart practical knowledge on Android application programming thus to reduce the gap between the demand and supply of Competent Android Application Developers.

Today, there are 2 billion monthly active Android devices across the globe. 82 billion apps and games were downloaded between June 2016 and June 2017.

Presently, 87.7 per cent of the world's smartphones run on the Android OS, and the total number of smartphones is expected to hit 6 billion by 2020.

 

 

Objective

The course is a 100 hrs course suitable for fresh graduates seeking a quick jump start into the world of Android development. Students with working knowledge of C and Operating Systems are allowed to attend this course. The project work at the end of the course enables students to get an exposure to industrial standards

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to Build your own Android apps

  • Explain the differences between Android™ and other mobile development environments
  • Understand how Android™ applications work, their life cycle, manifest, Intents, and using external resources
  • Design and develop useful Android™ applications with compelling user interfaces by using, extending, and creating your own layouts and Views and using Menus.
  • Take advantage of Android's APIs for data storage, retrieval, user preferences, files, databases, and content providers
  • Tap into location-based services, geocoder, compass sensors, and create rich map-based applications · Utilize the power of background services, threads, and notifications.
  • Use Android's communication APIs for SMS, telephony, network management, and internet resources (HTTP).
  • Secure, tune, package, and deploy Android™ applications

Course Fee:

General Candidates:  Course fee is 15000 (including GST)

SC/ST Candidates: Tuition Fees/Examination fees are waived for SC/ST students admitted under SCSP/TSP. However they are required to remit an amount of 1500 as Advance caution/security deposit. This amount will be considered as caution/security deposit and will be refunded after successful completion of the course. If the student fails to complete the course successfully this amount along with any other caution/security deposits by the student will be forfeited.

Course Outcome

This is a hands on course which provides participants with the information and lab experience necessary to develop and deploy Android applications. This course starts with core java and covers SQL programming and Android application Development.

Career in mobile app development : 

A mobile app i.e. a mobile application is an application developed for mobile phones and smartphones. In simple terms, a mobile app is a software programme for ones phone. These can be as simple as a basic flashlight application or a dictionary or something similar to a Google Maps navigation app. There are mobile apps developed for entertainment like the Facebook and Twitter app (social media networks) or the Angry Birds mobile app (games). Mobile applications are basically a lighter version of computer applications meant for mobile devices/tablet devices, which cater to infotainment and entertainment.

The mobile applications market is not just restricted to general users but has also reached out to business and institutional users. This ever-changing and growing industry and its revenue generation opportunities have not only enticed customers, but also business conglomerates. The year 2011 witnessed a breakthrough for mobile application development and many new players have entered this domain, there will be more in the coming days. This year featured a steep rise in text messaging, Smartphone purchases and mobile advertising. Location-based services, social networking application, mcommerce, context-aware service, object recognition, mobile instant messaging and mobile payment or mobile money transfer will be the areas of growth. Also, more social games apps in mobile devices will be developed.

In India alone, a perusal of job searching platforms like Naukri, Indeed, LinkedIn and Angel List reveal that there are over 20,000 open Android Developer jobs today. Companies are moving more heavily into creating a consummate app experience, driven by projections of 66% smartphone penetration globally by the end of 2018.
