About NCPUL

The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of India. It has been set up to promote, develop and propagate Urdu language. Council started its operation in Delhi on April 1, 1996. In its capacity as the National Nodal Agency for the promotion of the Urdu language NCPUL is the principal coordinating and monitoring authority for promotion of Urdu language and Urdu education.

Major Objectives of NCPUL

  • ​To take action for making available the knowledge of scientific and technological development as well as knowledge of ideas evolved in the modern context in Urdu language

  • To undertake the production and supply of publication of journals and periodicals, literature in the Urdu language, including books on science and other branches of modern knowledge, the children's literature textbooks, reference works, encyclopaedia, dictionaries, etc.

  • To collect and evolve technical terms relating to various disciplines of knowledge in order to enrich the Urdu language.

  • To promote and help in development of computerization with a view to develop the Urdu language to meet the advanced technological requirements of the age.

  • One of the significant initiatives of the NCPUL has been the transformation of Urdu speaking population into part of the employable technological workforce in the age of technology and computer. It not only provides job opportunity for Urdu speaking people but also increases computer literacy rate of the country. Further the course would empower the participants to become part of the enriched technological work force that is in demand in the Information Technology Industry these days.

  • To transfer the information technology to language and making Urdu speaking boys and girls part of employable technology workforce of India, NCPUL establishes Computer Applications, Business Accounting and Multilingual DTP Centres (CABA-MDTP) across the country. 

MoU Between NIELIT, Chandigarh and NCPUL

 

NIELIT has signed an MoU with NCPUL for execution of  a program to recruit & develop faculty to  impart training to the students of NCPUL centers and assess them for  one year diploma course - “Diploma in Computer Applications, Business Accounting and Multilingual DTP (CABA-MDTP)”. This program is jointly being executed by NCPUL and National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Chandigarh since 2004.

Objective of the CABA-MDTP Course

The one-year diploma course has been designed for transformation of Urdu speaking population into productive human resources and making them part of the employable technological work force in the emerging IT scenario and penetration of computer education to grass root level. The main objectives of the course are:

  • To impart training for enhancement of skills to under privileged sections of the society in the field of IT.
  • To use Urdu Word processor and Multilingual DTP.
  • To enhance IT skill set of candidates to make them independent and competent for the jobs in IT sector.
  • To prepare trained IT manpower keeping in view the demand of the industry.
  • To train the manpower in a way that they can be directly absorbed by the industry and encourage entrepreneurship in IECT area

 

Role of the NIELIT, Chandigarh

  • NIELIT Chandigarh is the nodal agency for implementation of CABA-MDTP program at more than 500 centres and the new centres being opened by NCPUL from time to time across the country.
  • NIELIT Chandigarh provides technical manpower/Faculties to impart IT training in about 310 main centres. The orientation of the computer training is focused to increase awareness, knowledge, skill set and employability.
  • NIELIT Chandigarh implements well defined and structured training programmers in all NCPUL designated CABA-MDTP Centres in the area of IECT in the interest of students and general public.
  • The registration and examination activities of the participating candidates are conducted by NIELIT Chandigarh.
  • Successful candidates are jointly certified by NCPUL & NIELIT.
                                       

Introduction to Course: Diploma in Computer Application (CABA -MDTP)

The Computer Applications, Business Accounting and Multilingual Desktop Publishing (CABA-MDTP) is a one-year Certificate course that has been designed for transforming the Urdu speakers into productive human resources in the field of Information Technology. Further the course would empower the participants to become part of the enriched technological work force that is in demand in the Information Technology Industry these days.

The contents have been designed keeping in view the career perspective of an individual who completes the course and wants to excel in the field of Information Technology. The modules covered are:

  1. Module I:   Fundamentals of Information Technology

  2. Module II:  Internet Technology and Web Designing.

  3. Module III: Financial Accounting Using Tally & Personality Development. 

  4. Module IV: Emerging trends in IT

  5. Module V:  Multilingual DTP.

  6. Module VI:  Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Python

The contents have been designed such that a wide range of career options are possible for an individual after completing the course. At present, about 500 CABA MDTP Centres are running in 200 Districts of 26 States. Every year, 25000 students approximately are enrolled at these centres to undergo IT Training. The course not only provides job opportunity for Urdu speaking people but also increases computer literacy rate of the country.

 

Registration

A candidate seeking admission in one-year Diploma course in Urdu run by Urdu Council is first registered by NIELIT. Further the candidate must also pass in this course for the award of Diploma in Computer Application, Business Accounting and Multilingual DTP (CABA-MDTP). Registrations are done twice in year in the month January or July. Approx. 30,000 candidates are registered per year.

 

Examination

Semester examination of registered candidates is conducted twice in a year in the month of January and July. Examination of approx. 30,000 candidates is conducted by NIELIT, Chandigarh

Certification

All successful students are awarded “Diploma in Computer Applications, Business Accounting and Multilingual DTP” at the end of the Academic session jointly by NCPUL and NIELIT, Chandigarh and “Diploma in Urdu Language” by NCPUL. Approx. 25000 candidates are certified every year

 

Significant Events/Achievements

  • The programme is being run through a network of NCPUL accredited NGO Centres since the year 2010. Presently, more than 500 centres are executing this programme.

  • The course has been designed for transformation of Urdu speaking population into productive human resources and making them part of the employable technological work force in the emerging IT scenario and penetration of computer education to grass root level.

  • Around 30000 students are registered every year.

  • Exam of registered candidates is conducted at around 500 NCPUL centers twice a year.

  • Around 25000 candidates are issued certificates on successful completion of course every year.

  • Till Date 2,01,862 have been certified Since 2011

  • Syllabus of CABA-DTP has been revised as per latest technologies and approved by NCPUL

  • Revision of Study material for CABA-MDTP Course as per new syllabus. 

  • Providing training to faculties deployed at NCPUL centers across India as per new syllabus

  • Addition of new centers from time to time and accordingly increase of registrations at centers.

 

Faculty Development Program

Time to time Faculty development programme are organized for upgrading the skills of faculties deployed at NCPUL centers across India on latest technologies   through both Online and Offline modes. Faculties were trained as per the new syllabus with emphasis on emerging technologies being added in the curriculum.
