Alumni Cell

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (NIELIT), Chandigarh (Formerly DOEACC Society, Chandigarh) at its permanent campus Ropar was established in 1978 to provide professional services in the areas of Information, Electronics & Communication Technology (IECT). It is a pioneer institute in this region.

It is an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India.  NIELIT Chandigarh at its Ropar campus conducts BCA, BSc. Honours and PGDCA affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. It also conducts advanced training programs in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Blockchain Technology, Cyber Security, Big Data using Hadoop, Internet of Things, Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Cloud Computing etc. It also conducts courses for technical officials of various Corporates, Government departments and Banks.  It is also an accredited centre for 'O', 'A' and ‘B’ level Software Courses and ‘O’ level Hardware Courses.

NIELIT Chandigarh is always moving towards building an actively engaged alumni for the benefit of both the Centre and its students. The alumni cell at NIELIT Ropar has been established to build an alumni network which can give a sense of belonging, help building relationships, enhancement of knowledge, expanding community of engaged alumni serving as a resource in the field of Computer Science and Electronics.  The Cell not only gives an association to its pass out students but also promotes common interests of NIELIT Ropar and its alumni as it is a great way to keep the legacy going and ensure that future generations of students benefit from it.

The key Objective of Alumni Cell of NIELIT Ropar is to

 To support a network of pass outs who will help to raise the profile of the Centre.

 To build a network of alumni of NIELIT Ropar to get connected with each other.

 Knowledge sharing by senior/expert alumni where students gain professionally by participating in the various alumni association activities, programs and events. 

 Contribute to the Institute’s vision of being recognized among leading institutions in academics, research, outreach and innovation.

 Furnishing and promoting openings for professional association, career development, leadership and fellowship among alumni.
