Name : CHMO ( AdvanceDiploma course in Computer Hardware Maintenance & Networking)

This is the second level course in computer hardware after CHM-O Level. It is an advance diploma course in Computer Hardware Maintenance & Networking.Duration of the course is one & half Years(one year for CHMO Level qualifiers)starting February and August Every Year. Admission notice of this course is also published in local daily newspapers of Nagaland about 1 month prior to the commencement of course.

Objective:

The Objective of the course is to prepare candidates for DOEACC Hardware examinations by imparting required knowledge and skill.

Recognition:

Recognition has been given by the Government of India to the “CHM-A”level examination conducted by the DOEACC Society as equivalent to advance diploma course in Computer Hardware Maintenance and Networking for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government. This course is launched jointly by DOEACC Society and Manufacturer’s Association for Information Technology (MAIT), an apex body representing IT hardware training,IT design/ R&D and associated services in India.

Eligibility:

CHM-O Level Pass/ Diploma in Electronics/ Computers/ Electrical/Instrumentation after 10 pass or undergoing 2nd year BSc. with Physics/ Electronics/Computer or undergoing 2nd year B.E (Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer/ IT) and accredited ‘A’ Level course ( may be concurrent).

Intake :

20 seats for each for each session

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidate is purely through an entrance test conducted by NIELIT, Kohima. If the number of applicant is less, entrance test will not be held.

Course duration & Exemption of Papers for “CHMO” Level Qualifiers:

Students who have qualified ‘CHM-O’ Level and joined in CHM-A level course shall get exemption in the same subjects of ‘CHM-A’ Level (both theory &practical papers). Course duration of such candidates will be only one year (two semesters) i.e. they can directly joined in the second semester.

Project Work:

DOEACC “CHM-A” curriculum has a project as an integrated experience in solving a real life problem by applying knowledge and skills gained on completion of theory papers. Candidates need to carry out the project successfully. Student can submit the project only after passing 5 papers and appearing in remaining papers in the next examinations. A fee of Rs. 1000/- shall be remitted to DOEACC Centre drawn on any nationalized bank for evaluation.

Examination:

1. Theory Examinations:

The theory examination is conducted by DOEACC Society, (Aurangabad Centre) two times in a year - in the month of August & February every year.Examination form can be collected from NIELIT, Kohima on payment of Rs. 25/- in cash.

Full mark of each paper is 100 and exam duration is 3 hrs. Examination fee for each theory paper is Rs. 500/- plus applicable service tax.

2. Practical Examinations:

There are four practical papers for the course carrying 100 marks (20 marks each for Viva Voice) each. Practical Examination will be conducted at NIELIT, Kohima for the trainees of NIELIT under the supervision of DOEACC Society. The same formfor appearing theory exam will use for applying practical examination with additional practical exam fee of Rs.500/- plus service tax per paper. Following are the tentative dates for issue & submission of exam form and commencement of the Examination.

Result of Examination :

Result of CHM-A Level examination is published in DOEACC Centre, Aurangabad website http://www.doeaccaurangabad.org.in.For the students of NIELIT, result can enquire to the office. Results are sent as grades to the candidates like DOEACC ‘O’ & ‘A’ Level Courses. The marks scored in practical paper(s) are not counted for calculating overall grade of the exam but, clearing practical paper(s)is the necessary criteria for awarding the certificate.
