Valedictory Session of the Just-in-Time Training Programme for the Indian Army, HQ Eastern Command
NIELIT Kolkata, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, had the honour of being entrusted by the Indian Army, HQ Eastern Command, with the responsibility of conducting a Just-in-Time Training Programme on “Cyber Security and Social Media Analyst Course” for Army personnel.
The training was conducted from 1 Sep to 10 Nov 2025, spanning two months of intensive learning and hands-on practice. The Valedictory Session, held on 10 Nov 2025, marked a significant milestone in the technical collaboration between NIELIT Kolkata and the Indian Army.
Over a span of 540 hours, participants engaged in rigorous, hands-on learning across multiple domains, including:
• Networking Fundamentals
• Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence
• Social Media Analysis
• Data Science and Analytics
• Audio-Video Editing
• Linux and Windows Server Administration, and more
This holistic training initiative was designed to enhance digital competencies aligned with the Army's modern operational and cyber requirements.
The session was graced by the presence of:

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Kalyan Baital, who also delivered the welcome address. In his speech, Dr. Baital warmly welcomed the dignitaries, participants, and colleagues, and highlighted the scope and impact of the training. He acknowledged the unwavering support of the Indian Army and the dedication of all stakeholders involved.
Following the welcome address , Shri Goutam Saha, Director In-Charge, then addressed the gathering. He reflected on NIELIT’s mission to empower professionals through specialized ICT training and commended the participants for their dedication and excellence throughout the programme.
Shri Tapas Trivedy, praised the dedication and discipline shown by the Indian Army personnel during the training. He said their interest in learning and hard work were truly inspiring and reflected the spirit of the Indian Army. Shri Trivedy wished all participants the very best for the future and expressed confidence that the skills they gained would help strengthen the Army’s cyber and digital abilities.
Col Sumita Pattanayak delivered a motivating and insightful speech, emphasizing the strategic relevance of digital preparedness and cyber training for today’s armed forces. She appreciated the quality of instruction and the collaborative efforts of NIELIT Kolkata.
The session then proceeded to the Certificate Distribution Ceremony, during which participants were felicitated by the dignitaries. The event marked a proud culmination of weeks of intensive learning and collaboration. Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya conducted the ceremony and delivered the Vote of Thanks. In her address, she expressed heartfelt appreciation to the participants for their commitment, to the faculty members for their dedicated efforts, and to the Indian Army for their continued support and collaboration.
In the concluding remarks, the dignitaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army, HQ Eastern Command, for entrusting NIELIT Kolkata with this prestigious responsibility. At the same time, sincere appreciation was extended to NIELIT Kolkata and its dedicated team for designing and delivering such a well-executed, impactful training programme. Special thanks were offered to Col Sumita Pattanayak for her leadership and vision throughout the course.
Most importantly, all dignitaries warmly congratulated the participants for their dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm, encouraging them to carry forward their learning in service to the nation.
The session concluded on a note of mutual respect, gratitude, and a shared commitment to national progress through skill development and technological empowerment.
