Launching of Cyber Security and Social Media Analyst Training Programme by Army Education Corps of Indian Army at NIELIT Kolkata

NIELIT Kolkata has been entrusted by the Army Education Corps of the Indian Army with the responsibility of conducting a Just-in-Time Training Programme on “Cyber Security and Social Media Analyst Course”. This is an NSQF Level-5 course, spanning 540 hours of intensive training. The programme commenced on 16th June 2025 at the NIELIT Kolkata Salt Lake Campus, with participation from over 20 Defence Personnel.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Goutam Saha, Director In-Charge, NIELIT Kolkata in the esteemed presence of Sub/Instr Ranjit Neog, Training JCO from Fort William Kolkata, Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D and Course Coordinator, Mrs. Krishnakali Kar Khan, Senior Technical Officer, and Mr. Koushik Pahari, Faculty, NIELIT Kolkata.

In his inaugural address, Shri Saha emphasized on the critical importance of cyber security and the growing need for trained professionals in this field. He also highlighted the long-term career and operational benefits that participants would gain upon successful completion of the course.

Participants were warmly welcomed by Dr. Kalyan Baital, who provided a comprehensive briefing on the course structure, training methodology, and key learning outcomes. He also explained the modalities of the training programme, including registration procedures, course delivery mechanisms, and the examination and certification process.

This collaboration between the Indian Army and NIELIT aims to equip personnel with specialized skills in cyber security and social media analytics, strengthening the nation’s digital defense capabilities.
