Inauguration of DGR-sponsored course for Certified Data Entry and Office Assistant (Upskilling)

A batch of 28 participants of the DGR-sponsored course for Certified Data Entry and Office Assistant (Upskilling) commenced on 8th September 2025 at NIELIT Kolkata’s Jadavpur University Campus. The Course was inaugurated in presence of Lt Col and Joint Director training(DRZ(East)) M K Khati, Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist-E, Dr Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D and Smt Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Sc-D & Course Coordinator along with other faculties and staff.

Participants were welcome by Smt Rashmi M Vijayvergiya. She also acknowledged about the course related details and completion formalities. She spoke about the typing test which is also a part of this course and how it will help them to improve their typing skill.

Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist-E spoke about the importance of the course for DGR and what benefits they can reap after completing it. He spoke about the teaching and lab facility available at NIELIT Kolkata.

Lt Col M. K. Khati discussed about the current scenario in IT world and how data entry and Office tools will help them in future. He spoke about the skills required today in IT world and how defence personnel are being provided these training under the guidance of experienced faculties at NIELIT Kolkata.

Dr. Kalyan Baital delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated all participants for selecting this valuable course. He emphasized that Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential tools in our daily personal and professional lives, playing a key role in enhancing productivity and communication. He also highlighted the growing demand for advanced Excel skills in the corporate sector and encouraged participants to make full use of this knowledge, which can open up new career opportunities, including avenues after retirement.
