Training programme on "Networking, Computer Hardware Repair & Maintenance" for Officers and Staff of the Technical Cadre of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO)
The training programme on "Networking, Computer Hardware Repair & Maintenance" was conducted from 22nd to 26th September 2025 at NIELIT, Kolkata, as part of the capacity-building initiative for Officers and Staff of the Technical Cadre of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO). The programme was organized by NIELIT Kolkata, following the directives of the Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM) unit of DRDO, which outlined a series of training programmes for the financial year 2025-26. These include courses on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Networking & Computer Hardware Repair & Maintenance. This was the second training under the initiative, following the successful completion of the AI & ML course on 27 June 2025.
The inaugural session of the training took place on 22 September 2025 in the presence of Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D & Course Coordinator, and Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Scientist-D. Dr. Baital welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of networking technologies in modern office environments. He also elaborated on the course structure and discussed the training modalities in detail. Mrs. Vijayvergiya encouraged participants to attend all sessions sincerely, advised them to take full advantage of the expertise of the faculty, and to ask questions actively to enhance their learning.
Over the course of five days, participants engaged in a blend of theoretical sessions and practical hands-on training focused on networking, hardware maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, and lab-based exercises. The sessions were designed to be interactive and application-oriented, ensuring high levels of engagement. Participants found the content highly relevant to their technical roles and appreciated the structured and supportive learning environment provided by the faculty and organizers.
The valedictory session was held on 26 September 2025, during which Dr. Baital expressed his appreciation for the participants' active involvement and lauded the collective efforts of the faculty and administrative staff in delivering a successful training programme. Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the course and acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the teaching and support teams. Mrs. Debapriya Bhattacharyya, PTO, who was present during the session, conducted the certificate distribution ceremony, formally concluding the programme.
Overall, the training was highly appreciated by the participants. They found the sessions engaging, informative, and practically useful. Their positive feedback reflected the effective planning and delivery of the course. Participants expressed sincere gratitude to the faculty and organizing team for conducting such a valuable and professionally enriching programme.
