Closing Ceremony of DGR sponsored Certified Data Entry and Office Assistant (Upskilling) course 

A batch of 28 participants of the DGR-sponsored course for Certified Data Entry and Office Assistant (Upskilling) commenced on 8th September 2025 at NIELIT Kolkata’s Jadavpur University Campus and concluded on 21st November 2025. The closing ceremony was held in the presence of Lt Col & Joint Director Training (DRZ-East) M. K. Khati, Shri Goutam Saha, Director In-Charge & Scientist-E, Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist-E, Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D, Smt. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya, Scientist-D & Course Coordinator, along with other faculty members and staff.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by Smt. Rashmi M. Vijayvergiya, who appreciated the participants for their active engagement and interactive approach throughout the training. She also highlighted the additional learning opportunities provided during the programme and acknowledged the sincere efforts of the faculty members in effectively training them.

Shri Goutam Saha, Director In-Charge & Scientist-E, congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the training. He encouraged them to continue learning, share their newly acquired knowledge with others, and pursue further courses to remain updated in the fast-evolving digital domain. Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist-E, emphasized the importance of the course for DGR participants and extended his best wishes for their future. He added a special note of respect to the personnel of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, acknowledging their service and dedication to the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Col M. K. Khati highlighted the opportunities available after retirement and urged participants to make the best use of the training provided by the experienced faculty of NIELIT Kolkata. He advised them to continue expanding their knowledge and apply the skills they have learned effectively in their future endeavours.

Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist-D, delivered the vote of thanks. He congratulated all the participants and emphasized that although the core training covered essential basic computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, these tools are crucial in modern official work for report preparation, presentations, calculations, and data analysis. He concluded by highlighting the relevance of the additional Power BI and Tableau training, explaining that with data analysis becoming increasingly important and the participants already having a solid Excel foundation, this advanced module was given to them, and they grasped it enthusiastically for their future growth.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of participation certificates, marking the successful completion of the training programme. Participants also shared their experience, expressing that the training had significantly enhanced their knowledge and confidence in using digital tools.
