Five-Day Master Trainer Training Programme on “Operating System Security” Successfully Conducted at NIELIT Kolkata under ISEA Phase–III during 23rd–27th February 2026


The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT Kolkata) successfully conducted a Five-Day Master Trainer Training Programme on the module “Operating System Security” from 23rd–27th February 2026 under Phase–III of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and marked another significant milestone in strengthening national capacity in cybersecurity.
The inaugural session was conducted in the presence of Mr. Goutam Saha, Director-in-Charge (DIC), NIELIT Kolkata; Prof. Mridul Sankar Barik, Jadavpur University; Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist–E, NIELIT Kolkata; Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist–D, NIELIT Kolkata & Programme Coordinator; Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya; Mrs. Debapriya Bhattacharyya, PTO; Mrs. Krishnakali Kar Khan, STO; along with other senior officers and faculty members of NIELIT Kolkata.
Dr. Kalyan Baital highlighted the purpose and need for the training programme, emphasizing the importance of capacity building under ISEA Phase–III. He elaborated on the structured planning and delivery framework of the module and encouraged all participants to engage actively throughout the sessions.
Mr. Goutam Saha welcomed the participants and underlined the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital era. He expressed confidence that the programme would deliver quality training through experienced Master Trainers and faculty members of NIELIT Kolkata.
Prof. Mridul Sankar Barik appreciated NIELIT Kolkata for organizing the programme and bringing together a diverse group of participants. He conveyed his best wishes for the success of the initiative.
Shri Tapas Trivedy acknowledged the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Programme Management Unit (PMU) at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC Hyderabad) for providing the opportunity to conduct such capacity-building programmes. He encouraged the participants to attend the sessions diligently and apply the acquired knowledge in their respective professional environments.
Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya highlighted the ongoing cybersecurity courses being delivered by NIELIT Kolkata and appreciated the team for organizing the programme efficiently within a short timeframe.
The five-day technical sessions were delivered by the Master Trainers and faculty members of NIELIT Kolkata. In addition, expert sessions were conducted by Prof. Mridul Sankar Barik from Jadavpur University, which further enriched the academic depth and practical orientation of the programme.
A total of 102 participants attended the training. The sessions were highly interactive, featuring active discussions, practical insights, and knowledge-sharing among participants and trainers.
An evaluation was conducted at the end of the programme, and all participants performed commendably. Participation Certificates were distributed to all attendees during the valedictory session.
The valedictory session was held in the presence of Shri Tapas Trivedy, Scientist–E; Dr. Kalyan Baital, Scientist–D & Programme Coordinator; Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya; Mrs. Debapriya Bhattacharyya, PTO; and Mrs. Krishnakali Kar Khan, STO, NIELIT Kolkata.
Dr. Kalyan Baital congratulated all participants for their enthusiastic engagement throughout the programme and expressed hope that the awareness and knowledge gained would significantly benefit them in their professional roles. He further encouraged them to disseminate cybersecurity awareness and conduct similar awareness sessions within their respective organizations.
Shri Tapas Trivedy congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the training and stressed the critical importance of cybersecurity in the present digital era. He also encouraged them to continuously upgrade their skills to keep pace with emerging cyber threats and evolving technologies.
Mrs. Rashmi Mandal Vijayvergiya advised the participants to use technology responsibly and ethically, and conveyed her best wishes for their future endeavors. She further emphasized the importance of spreading cybersecurity awareness within their respective organizations and communities.
The programme reflects NIELIT Kolkata’s continued commitment to developing skilled cybersecurity professionals and Master Trainers, thereby contributing to a safe, trusted, and secure cyberspace ecosystem in the country.
