Govt. of Assam had alloted 6.62 acres in Punioni village under Haleswar Mouza vide memo no. RSS. 1319/2012/29, dated 04/03/2014. The Project Management Consultant (PMC) is Hindustan Steelworks Construction Ltd. (HSCL). On 17/05/2016 this land has been handed over to HSCL for starting of construction work of permanent campus of Tezpur Extension Centre of NIELIT Guwahati. The construction work is expected to start soon.
