Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (31.10.2017)

To commemorate the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel being celebrated across India as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, NIELIT Shillong Students and Staff participated in the “RUN FOR UNITY” on 31st Oct 2017 which was organized by the District administration.

The run of 5(five) kilometer distance was flagged off at 6.30 AM by His Excellency the Governor of Meghalaya Shri Ganga Prasad.

The run starting from Fire Brigade field and which culminated at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium complex at Polo Grounds saw the first wave of participants around 17 minutes after flag off time.

Closing ceremony at the Stadium complex was initiated whereby the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge was administered by Sh P. S. Dkhar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills district followed by the Prizes and Merit certificates distribution to winners in different categories.
