Executive Director’s Desk

It is with immense pleasure and a sense of profound purpose that I address you as the Executive Director of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Patna, a unit of NIELIT Deemed to be University. Since assuming this role in August 2024, and also holding the charge for NIELIT Ranchi, I have been deeply impressed by NIELIT's unwavering commitment to shaping India's digital future.

NIELIT Patna along with its two extensions centres at Buxar and Muzaffarpur offers a diverse array of programs, including formal academic courses like B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, BCA, and MCA as well as non-formal certifications such as O, A, Levels, and the Course on Computer Concepts (CCC). We are also aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), delivering 32 skill-based courses tailored to meet industry demands and enhance employability. We proudly serve as a professional examination body, setting benchmarks for knowledge and skills in IT and Electronics. Furthermore, our role in accrediting training programs in the non-formal education sector guarantees quality and standardization across the industry.

A core strength of NIELIT lies in our dedication to human resource development. We are actively involved in cultivating skilled professionals in a wide array of cutting-edge fields, including IT, Electronics, Communication Technologies, Hardware, Cyber Law, Cyber Security, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cloud Computing, Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), e-Governance, and various other emerging technologies. This focus on skill development and capacity building directly contributes to enhancing the capabilities of the Indian workforce.

At NIELIT Patna, we specifically emphasize two key areas: standardization and market-oriented course development in IECT (Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology). We constantly strive to establish quality benchmarks and develop training programs that are highly responsive to the evolving demands of the IT and electronics industries. This ensures that the skills we impart are relevant and readily employable. Additionally, NIELIT has become a preferred agency for capacity building initiatives for both State Governments and Central Ministries, a testament to the trust placed in our ability to effectively train and upskill government personnel and citizens.

My vision for NIELIT Patna aligns seamlessly with the "Skill India" and "Digital India" initiatives. I am actively engaged in promoting skill development, re-skilling and upskilling of youths across the region. You'll find us regularly at industry-institute meets, highlighting NIELIT's crucial role in skilling youth in emerging technologies. We have ambitious plans to establish NIELIT Study Centres in various districts, aiming to empower rural youth and bring digital opportunities closer to them. We have successfully implemented government-sponsored projects, such as the Skill Development of Youth in Aspirational Districts and the Dashrath Manjhi Kaushal Vikas Yojna, aimed at training underprivileged sections of society in job-oriented technologies.

As the Executive Director, it is my honor to lead this vibrant institution toward excellence in education, skilling, and digital empowerment. I invite students, professionals, and stakeholders to explore our programs and be a part of our mission to build a digitally empowered and skilled India.
