NIELIT Chandigarh, a premier institute in the region, was established in 1978 to provide professional services in the areas of Electronics and Information Technology. The center is working as a leader in development of industry based skill manpower in latest and emerging technologies. The center focuses on providing affordable education and training, fostering a culture of technology usage and providing a complete customized IT solution and product to our users and students. It is working towards the welfare of the entire humanity in line with the 'Digital India', 'Skill India', 'Assemble in India', 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan' and 'FutureSkills' programs of the Central Government.

NIELIT Chandigarh is operating from permanent campus, Ropar (Punjab) with Facilitation Center at Chandigarh. The center is providing services in three classified groups.

Training and IT Educational Projects: The center is implementing IT training and educational projects in six verticals, where students get exposure to live projects and best practices followed in the industry.

Emerging Technologies: The center conducts training programs based on industry demands in latest technologies such as Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing and Virtualization, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Blockchain, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality etc. Used to be. Joint certification programs in technologies such as AI/ML, Blockchain and Big Data Analytics are offered in collaboration with IIT Ropar. The center is also implementing the government scheme of Futureskills Prime aimed at providing training to IT professionals in Big Data Analytics and Augment Reality and Virtual Reality.

Non-Formal: Non-Formal courses of NIELIT 'O', CHM 'O', 'A', 'B' and 'C' levels are conducted.

Digital Literacy Courses: Digital literacy courses like ACC, BCC, CCC, etc. are also offered.

Other NSQF & Specialized Courses: The Center conducts NIELIT NSQF courses and customized courses for the need of Corporate / Government Department in the area of IECT.

NCPUL: This center in association with National Council for Development of Urdu Language (NCPUL) is engaged in implementing IT Education Scheme across the country. Corporate Training: The center is also actively involved in providing customized training to various Central/State Government organizations.

IT Services: The center has been providing professional services in various fields since its inception. The major projects conducted or being conducted by this center are:

Digitization Projects: Successful execution of National Population Register (NPR) III for Punjab. Digitization of records of Agriculture Census and Irrigation, Punjab. The project of digitization of death and birth registers of Punjab is underway.

Data Processing: To provide services to Electricity/Corporations of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh (UT) by compiling electricity and water bills.

Grievance Registration and Redressal System: Providing services in the area of Grievance Registration and Redressal System for the Departments of Punjab and Chandigarh (UT). Some departments to mention are Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), Local Government Punjab, Grievance Redressal Centre, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department. Punjab, Grievance Redressal Centre, Public Health Engineering Department, Haryana, Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC), Chandigarh, Education Redressal Centre, Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Department, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Punjab, AIDS Helpline - State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh

Software Development and Maintenance Development and maintenance of software for PSPPCL, CPI Index Generation Labor Bureau.

Counseling Project: Execution of UT Counseling Project for Admission in Class XI of Government Schools of Chandigarh Administration.

Recruitment and Examination: Recruitment and examination activities for various government departments like Police, Education and Medical of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are carried out by this centre.

Others: The center is also providing human resources to various departments of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh (UT).

Web Based Solution for Education Consultancy

Web based solutions for healthcare sector

Web based solution for recruitment and pre and post examination activities

Client server based solution for data processing projects such as energy and water billing
