A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) and the Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) on April 22, 2014 by Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Addl. Director (T), NIELIT and Shri N. Jain, GGM (F&CS), TCIL at TCIL Bhawan, New Delhi, in the august presence of Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Managing Director, NIELIT and Shri Vimal Wakhlu, Chairman & Managing Director, TCIL.

The MoU is aimed at creating synergy between NIELIT and TCIL for the delivery of tele-educational services. This MoU would result in a joint effort by NIELIT and TCIL in taking education to the far flung areas and backward districts of the country.
