Change in Service Tax Rate
As proposed in Finance Bill 2016 under Chapter VI, a new levy 'Krishi Kalyan Cess' shall be levied @ 0.50% with effect from 01.06.2016. Thus with effect from 01.06.2016 Service Tax will be charged at 14% additionally Swachh Bharat Cess @ 0.5% and Krishi Kalyan Cess @ 0.5% (Total 15%) will be charged on total taxable value.
