B.Tech. Programmes

NIELIT Gorakhpur offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programmes in the following two disciplines:

  1. B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with a Minor in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  2. B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering with a Minor in Wearable Electronics

NIELIT Gorakhpur has been offering these B.Tech. programmes since 2025. The programmes are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and are affiliated with NIELIT Deemed to be University.

These are four-year undergraduate programmes comprising eight semesters. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for high-impact careers in the design and development of advanced electronic products, intelligent systems, and AI-driven technologies. The academic session commences each year in the month of August. 

Intake Capacity and Reservation

Each programme has an approved intake of 60 students per academic year. Reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates is provided in accordance with Government of India norms. A total of 22.5% of seats are reserved, including:

  • 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates
  • 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates

Lateral Entry admissions directly to the second year are also available in both programmes, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

Programme Outcomes

The B.Tech. programmes at NIELIT Gorakhpur provide students with a strong foundation in computer science, electronics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and modern hardware and software design methodologies.

The programmes are structured to develop industry-ready engineers equipped to meet the evolving demands of technology-driven sectors. Students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art laboratories, advanced software platforms, and industry-standard design tools.

Through a practical and application-oriented curriculum, students build expertise in emerging technologies and acquire the technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills required for successful careers in engineering, research, and innovation.

 

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech. Admissions:

 

 

Engineering First Year

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics and any one out of Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/  Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

OR

Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.

Lateral Entry (For direct admission in Second Year)

Passed Minimum THREE years / TWO years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.

OR

Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

OR

Passed B.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector OR NIELIT A-Level with aggregate 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 (45 percent for SC/ST and PwD candidates).

*Admission to Lateral entry will be subjected to availability of seats

 

Admissions Process:

  1. B.Tech. First Year : Through JOSSA/CSAB (College Code:448) followed by Entrance
  2. B.Tech. Lateral Entry (For direct admission in Second Year) : Through Entrance
