NIELIT PILIBHIT centre

Atal Bihari Vajpayee NIELIT Extension Centre, Pilibhit has been established as an extension centre under the administrative control of NIELIT Gorakhpur, with the vision of promoting digital literacy, advanced IT education, and skill development in the Pilibhit region and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh. The centre reflects the Government of India’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and creating a future-ready workforce aligned with the needs of the electronics and IT industry.

The Centre was inaugurated on 23rd December 2024 by the Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, Government of India, the centre marks a milestone in strengthening digital empowerment and bridging the skill gap.

Situated within the campus of Drummond Government Inter College, Pilibhit, the centre started its operation in Dec 2024, marking a significant step towards decentralizing high-quality technical education and training facilities. The establishment of the centre is expected to play a vital role in enhancing employability among youth, especially in semi-urban and rural areas.

The NIELIT Pilibhit Centre has been developed with modern infrastructure, including well-equipped smart classrooms, advanced computer laboratories and practical training facilities. The centre is delivering a wide spectrum of long-term and short-term courses in emerging and high-demand domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Industry 4.0. These programmes are designed in alignment with industry requirements and national initiatives like Digital India, Skill India, and Make in India.

In addition to technical training, the centre also focuses on capacity building, entrepreneurship development and fostering innovation among students and aspiring professionals. Special emphasis is laid on inclusivity by providing access to quality education for students from economically weaker sections and underrepresented communities.

The centre collaborates with academic institutions, industry partners and Government agencies for conducting training programmes, workshops, seminars and skill certification courses. Through such collaborations, it aims to create a robust ecosystem for knowledge sharing, research and skill enhancement.

With a planned capacity to train a large number of candidates annually, the NIELIT Pilibhit Centre is envisioned as a hub of excellence for skill development in emerging technologies in the area of Electronics and Information Technology. It is contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region by creating skilled manpower, enhancing digital awareness and supporting the growth of a knowledge-based economy.
