NIELIT CoE NOIDA

Centre of Excellence for Chip Design, NIELIT Noida

The Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Chip Design, NIELIT Noida has been set up with the objective of strengthening the semiconductor and VLSI ecosystem by creating a pool of highly skilled manpower in the field of Integrated Circuit (IC) and ASIC design. The Centre focuses on industry-oriented training, hands-on exposure, and capacity building in advanced chip design technologies, with emphasis on aligning technical skills with current industry requirements.

The CoE Noida provides end-to-end visibility of the complete ASIC design flow, starting from design specifications and RTL development to physical implementation and GDSII sign-off. Practical learning is emphasized through real-world and industry-relevant projects, enabling students, faculty members, and working professionals to gain in-depth understanding of semiconductor design workflows, tools, and methodologies followed in professional environments.

The Centre operates with active industry collaboration and delivers training programs using industry-standard EDA tools, conducted by experienced industry experts having extensive exposure to multiple tape-outs and real semiconductor products. In addition to structured training, the Centre promotes academic–industry interaction through internships, project-based learning, continuous mentoring, and evaluation aligned with industry practices, thereby enhancing the technical competence, employability, and professional readiness of participants.

In addition to training and skill development, the Centre of Excellence actively supports academic–industry interaction by facilitating internships, hands-on projects, and exposure to real semiconductor design challenges. The Centre serves as a platform for nurturing talent through structured learning, continuous mentoring, and evaluation based on industry practices, thereby enhancing the technical competence and professional readiness of participants.
