Name of the scheme/project :

Free Training to SC/ST jobseekers in National Career Service Centres

About:

Directorate General of Employment, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, is imparting free coaching to educated Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe job seekers in one year ‘O’ level Computer Training and one year ‘O’ level Computer Hardware Maintenance Training program through National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT). This Scheme is operated at the National Career Service Centres (NCSCs) for SC/ST at various locations in PAN India.

 

NIELIT Chandigarh is executing the scheme at Jalandhar, Punjab.

Courses conducted under the scheme:

IT-'O' Level and CHM-'O' Level

Objectives :

 

1. To encourage and assist SC/ST candidates in the education system.
2. To disseminate computer knowledge to SC/ST candidates.
3. To enable SC/ST candidates entry into the professional world.
4. To enhance the employability of SC/ST job seekers in Information Technology.

Training and Placement :

NIELIT Chandigarh trained more than 2000 SC/ST students in the last 10 years and more than 75% of students have been placed in diversified fields.
